We're sorry to see you go. This page explains exactly how to delete your Pumpkin account, what data is removed, and what is retained for legal compliance.

Option 1 - Delete from the App

The fastest way to delete your account is directly within the Pumpkin app. Follow these steps:

Open Settings

Tap the You / Settings tab (last item in the navigation bar).

Privacy & Data

Scroll to the "Privacy & Data" section and tap it.

Delete Account

Tap "Delete Account." You'll see a summary of what will be deleted and what is retained.

Complete the Exit Survey

Optionally tell us why you're leaving — this helps us improve Pumpkin for other families.

Confirm Deletion

Type "DELETE" to confirm. Your account enters a 7-day recovery window, then is permanently deleted on Day 30.

Option 2 — Request via Email

If you've already uninstalled the app or can't access your account, you can request deletion by emailing us:

Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include:

  • •The email address associated with your Pumpkin account
  • •Your name as it appears on the account
  • •Whether you want to delete just your profile or your entire household

We'll verify your identity via email confirmation, then process your deletion within 30 days (with a 7-day undo window). You'll receive a confirmation email when your data has been permanently removed.

Day 0

Deletion Requested

Your account is flagged for deletion. A 7-day recovery window begins.

Days 0–7

Recovery Window

You can undo the deletion by logging in and choosing "Undo Deletion" or emailing us. Your data remains intact during this period.

Day 7

Soft Delete

Your profile is hidden and no longer accessible. Personal data is removed from active systems. Anonymized records are retained per legal requirements.

Day 30

Permanent Deletion

All personal data is permanently and irreversibly removed from our databases. Only legally required anonymized records remain.

Data That Is Deleted

When your account is permanently deleted on Day 30, the following data is removed from all Pumpkin systems:

Profile information (name, age, avatar)
Task and chore history
Wallet balances and transactions
Goals and progress records
Financial literacy history
Screen time records
Notification preferences
Authentication tokens and sessions

Data That Is Retained (Anonymized)

The following data is retained in anonymized form for legal and compliance purposes. None of this data can be used to identify you.

Billing records

7 years

Tax and financial compliance (IRS requirements)

Fraud detection logs

90 days

Security and abuse prevention

Aggregated analytics

Indefinite

Non-identifiable usage statistics to improve the product

Deletion audit trail

7 years

COPPA compliance verification and legal record-keeping
